We’re almost through with May, which means that summer is just around the corner! I’m sure that you are all just as excited as I am for the warm weather, sunny, clear skies and lazy, beach-bumming days ahead of us. Obviously, the vast majority of the human race tends to use this time to go on extended vacations with friends or family. The typical question on everybody’s mind when planning these trips is, “where should we go?” Well, I figured I would compile a small list of places that are sure to provide for an unforgettable summer!
Walt Disney World – Orlando, FL
I know that this seems like one of the most stereotypical places to travel to for a summer vacation, but there is a legitimate reason that this year in particular will prove incredibly fun for the world-renowned theme park. This year, in fact, this week, is the opening of the long-awaited Pandora – The World of Avatar attraction is being touted as one of the most awe-inspiring attractions ever seen before. The park’s latest addition—which cost over half a billion dollars to build—is aimed at taking visitors to the magical and mystical world of Pandora, from the popular Avatar film. Featuring a water tour of Pandora’s bioluminescent rainforest, a trail littered with floating mountains and hills and an exhilarating 3D ride that takes you to the skies on the back of a mountain banshee, Pandora – The World of Avatar is certainly going to make a trip to Walt Disney World new and exciting.
With some of the bluest waters on the earth, Bora Bora is not only a fantastic honeymoon getaway, it’s perfect for any getaway! Visitors can engage in a plethora of activities like Jeep safaris, lagoon adventures and underwater exploration. And given the location’s history of being a popular travel destination, the island is ripe with hotels and restaurants. Enjoy your summer at the Four Seasons hotel or the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort and live in the lap of luxury.
New York City
I know what you’re thinking: “Why would I spend time in a crowded city like New York when I am trying to get away from the city and daily life?” It may seem unconventional at first, but New York City is one of the most diverse places in the world, in terms of both residents and activities. Visitors can spend an entire week visiting the various gardens and enjoying the zoo in Central Park alone! Visitors can also visit one of the hundreds of major retail stores located throughout the city, such as the Apple store or Saks Fifth Avenue, for some retail therapy. You could also spend time exploring the Hudson River, visit one of the several museums and memorials or simply immerse yourself in the city’s massive culture. Either way you go, you’re in for a real treat!
